Booking Information at Redondo Beach Jail

When someone is arrested in the Redondo Beach area, it’s likely they’ll be transported to the Redondo Beach Jail for booking and processing. Booking and processing is the procedure in which photographs are taken, fingerprints are recorded and a background check is conducted.

The entire process can take roughly 45 minutes, though it may be longer depending on how busy the jail is at the time. Once the procedure is complete, bail will be set per the county bail schedule (provided they are eligible) and a bail bond can be obtained.

The Redondo Beach Jail Unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What Happens If They Don’t Bail Out?

When the bail bond process is not started right away, inmates will face being transferred to one of the larger Los Angeles county jails.

Male inmates will be transferred to the Men’s Central Jail and female inmates will be taken to the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF), a.k.a. the Lynwood Jail. When this transfer occurs, the inmate can expect to spend an additional 24 hours (sometimes longer) in custody as they go through the booking process in the new facility. As a result, it is usually best to begin the bail bond process as soon as possible.
