The City of Calabasas contracts with the Los Angeles Sheriff Department to meet their law enforcement needs. When someone is arrested in Calabasas, they are taken to the Malibu/Los Hills Sheriff Station where they will undergo booking and processing. Once complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond. The on-site jail at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station is small, and only designed for the short-term holding of inmates. If an inmate is not bailed out within 72-hours, or if the jail becomes overcrowded, inmates will be transferred to larger long-term jails in downtown LA. Men are sent to Twin Towers while women are sent to the Lynwood Jail. Upon transfer, inmates will be ineligible for bail until they are processed in at the new facility – a procedure which can take up to 24-hours.

Why Bail Someone Out of Jail?

When someone is in jail, it’s almost impossible for them to see to all of their duties and obligations in the outside world.  Jobs are lost, classes are failed, and bills go unpaid. When you bail someone out, you allow them to continue on with their life, see to family obligations, obtain counsel, and make any necessary arrangements should they expect to spend time in jail after their trial.

The Bail Bond Process

To bail someone out, give us a call and provide us with the name, birth date and the date and time of arrest. We will use the information you provide to locate them within the jail system and verify their eligibility for bail. Once that’s been established, we will have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Finally, we dispatch an agent to the jail and your friend or loved one will be released a short time later.

If you are unable to meet with us in person, please let us know. We can just as easily complete the entire bail bond application process via phone, fax or email.

The Cost of a Bail Bond

In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500.

We accept a variety of payment options, including major credit/debit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover) as well as cash, business or personal check, money order, bank account transfer and money wire.

Financing Available

We realize that not everyone has the cash on hand to bail someone out of jail. As a result, we provide a variety of flexible payment options for those who are interested in financing the cost of a bail bond. No matter how you choose to pay, we never charge any additional fees or interest.

To get the bail bond process started right away, give us a call at 818-900-BAIL (2245) or toll-free at 877-422-4591. We know times like this can be stressful, and we’re always here to help.
