Shadow Hills is a small, semi-rural community and does not have its own police station. Therefore, officers working out of the Foothill Community Police Station are tasked with providing the law enforcement needs of the community. Anyone arrested in Shadow Hills is taken to the Foothill Community Police Station where they will undergo booking and processing. This procedure can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on how busy the station is. Once complete, bail will be set and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.
If an inmate is not bailed out within 72-hours, or if the Foothill Community Police Station jail gets crowded, inmates will begin to be transferred to larger jails in downtown Los Angeles. Men are transferred to Twin Towers and women to the Lynwood Jail. Upon transfer, inmates cannot be bailed out until they go through another round of processing at the new facility; a period that can last up to 24 hours. When the bail bond process is begun quickly enough, though, transfer can often be avoided altogether.
Arrest and Booking Process
The arrest and booking process happens once an arrestee arrives at the police station. They will have their photograph taken, fingerprints recorded and a national background check is conducted. It is only after booking and processing is complete that bail will be set.
The Bail Bond Process
The bail bond process isn’t all that complicated, nor does it take very long. It begins by giving us a call and providing us with some general information on the person you want to bail out. We will use that info to locate them within the system and verify their eligibility for bail. We will then have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Last, we dispatch a bail agent to the jail to post the bond and your friend or loved one will be released a short time later.
If you are unable to meet with us, or simply feel more comfortable handling the bail bond process from your home or office, we can easily handle the bail bond application process via phone, fax or email.
What is an Indemnitor?
The indemnitor is the person who signs the bail bond. When someone is bailed out, they must still return to court at the appointed date and time. When they do, the bond is exonerated. When they do not, it is the person who signs the bail bond that will be held financially responsible for the entire amount of bail. This can be expensive, and it’s always best to only bail out those whom you know and trust.
The Cost of a Bail Bond
In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500.
We accept a variety of payment options, including Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover as well as cash, business and personal checks, money orders, bank account transfers and money wire. If you’re interested in financing the cost of a bail bond – let us know! We have several flexible payment plans designed to fit most any budget.
