LASD Inmate Locator
LAPD officers working out of the North Hollywood Community Police Station are responsible for meeting the law enforcement needs of Studio City. When someone is arrested, it is here that they will be taken to undergo booking and processing – a procedure that can take anywhere from 45-minutes to several hours. Once complete, bail will be set and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.
When the on-site jail at the North Hollywood Community Police Station becomes overcrowded, or if an individual remains there for longer than 72-hours, inmates will begin to be transferred to larger, long-term holding facilities. Men are transferred to Twin Towers Jail while women are sent to the Lynwood Jail. The transfer process can take upwards of 24-hours to complete, during which time inmates will be unable to be bailed out of jail. As such, to ensure the quickest release possible, it’s best to begin the bail bond process while they are still located at the North Hollywood Station.
The Bail Bond Process
The bail bond process is pretty quick and easy. First, give us a call and provide us with some general information about the inmate you want to bail out. Things like their full name, birth date, and the date and time of arrest (if available) will help us locate them within the jail system and verify their eligibility for bail. Then, we will have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. Last, we send someone to the jail to post the bond and your friend or loved one will be released a short time later.
The process is so easy, we don’t even have to meet with you to complete it. If you’re unavailable to meet in person, or live out of the area, we can easily handle the entire bail bond application process via phone, fax or email.
What is an Indemnitor?
The indemnitor is the person who signs the bail bond. When a defendant is bailed out of jail, they still have to make sure to attend all of their court dates. When they do, the bond is exonerated. When they do not, the person who signs the bail bond will be held financially responsible for paying the entire amount of bail to the court. Additionally, a warrant will be issued for the defendant’s arrest and it will likely be much harder (if not impossible) to bail them out of jail again.
The above being said, it’s always best to only bail out those whom you know and trust.
The Cost of a Bail Bond
In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500.
We accept a variety of payment options, including Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover as well as cash, business and personal checks, money orders, bank account transfer and money wire.
