LASD Inmate Locator
The City of Duarte contracts with the LASD to provide it with law enforcement. Deputies working out of the Temple Station are responsible for not only patrolling Duarte, but also Chantry Flats, Monrovia, Arcadia, Bradbury, Rosemead, South El Monte, Temple City, North and South San Gabriel and East Pasadena. When someone is arrested in any of these areas, they are taken to the Temple Station to undergo booking and processing. The procedure can take up to several hours to complete, and only afterwards will bail be set.
If the on-site jail becomes overcrowded, or if an inmate remains there for longer than 72-hours, it is highly likely that they will be transferred to a larger, long-term holding facility in downtown Los Angeles. Men are typically transferred to Twin Towers Jail awhile women are sent to the Lynwood Jail. Once transferred, there will be a period of 12 to 24 hours where the inmate will be ineligible for bail as they are processed in at the new facility. Sometimes, when the bail bond process has begun quickly enough, transfer can be avoided altogether.
Why Bail Someone Out?
When you bail someone out of jail, you allow them the freedom to go about their life as they await their day in court. During this period, the defendant can continue to attend work/school, take care of family obligations and seek legal counsel. While in police custody, it’s next to impossible to take care of anything on the outside. Jobs are lost, classes are failed, and rents/mortgages often go unpaid. When this occurs, a defendant who ends up spending no further time in custody after their trial can be released to find their life shambles. When you bail someone out, the likelihood for this to occur is greatly reduced.
How to Bail Someone Out
To bail someone out, give us a call and provide us with their full name, birth date and the date and time of their arrest (if available). We will use the info you provide to locate them and verify their eligibility for bail. We then have you fill out our bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. All of our forms are straightforward and simple, but if you have any questions, we’re always happy to go over them with you. Last, we send someone to the jail to post the bond. Your friend or loved one will then be released once they can be processed out.
We’re happy to meet with you at our office, the jail, or wherever you feel most comfortable. If you’re unable to meet with us in person, we can always handle the bail bond process via phone, fax or email.
