The city of La Crescenta contracts with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department to service its law enforcement needs. Immediately after being arrested in the area, the arrestee will be taken to the Crescent Valley station where they will undergo booking and processing.
Once complete, bail will be set and it will be possible to obtain release via bail bond. If the bail bond process is begun shortly after arrest, it is possible for your friend or loved one to be bailed out directly from the La Crescenta station.
However, the on-premises jail is pretty small, and only designed for the temporary housing of inmates. So, if someone remains there for longer than 2 or 3-days, they are likely to be transferred to one of the larger holding facilities in downtown Los Angeles. Men are transferred to Twin Towers and females are sent to the Lynwood Jail.
At various times of the year, those arrested in Santa Clarita may be transferred to La Cresenta Valley Sheriff’s station if the SCV Sheriff’s Station Jail is full, or there are events being held there.
How is Bail Set?
When an arrestee arrives at the police station, he or she will undergo booking and processing. This is the procedure in which their fingerprints are recorded, photographs are taken and a national background check is conducted. Once complete, bail is set in whatever amount, depending on the crime(s) an individual has been charged with. If you’re interested in seeing some possible bail amounts, they can be viewed in the Los Angeles County Bail Schedule.
Do I have to use a Bondsman?
A bail bondsman’s service is not the only way to get someone out of jail, it’s just the most commonly used. When bail is initially set, it can be paid in a variety of ways, including cash, or using property as collateral. However, bail can be expensive, and cash bonds are not always a valid options for most people. Additionally, property bonds (using property as collateral) can take days, to even a few weeks to actually get a friend or loved one out of jail because the property needs to be assessed and its value established.
When you use our agency, it works similar to bailing someone out with cash, but it only costs 10% of the total bail amount. Not only is the cost more affordable, but you get the benefit of our years of experience in the bail industry at your disposal.
When you work with us, you don’t have to communicate with law enforcement at all – we take care of everything! As a matter of fact, you don’t even have to meet directly with us to work through the bail bond application process. We can do everything with you over the phone and via fax or email, allowing you the privilege of remaining wherever you’re most comfortable throughout the entire process.

The Bail Bond Process
It all begins by calling and providing us with the name, birth date and date and time of arrest of the inmate so we can locate him or her within the system. Once we’ve done that, we will have you fill out the bail bond application forms (all of which are simple and to the point) and indemnitor’s agreement. Lastly, we will provide you with a receipt and dispatch one of our agents to the jail. Your friend or loved one will be released a short time later.
The Cost of a Bail Bond
In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500. We include no additional charges, fees or interest when you work with us.
We accept several payment options, including cash, check, money order, bank account transfer, money wire and major credit/debit cards (American Express, Master Card, Visa and Discover).
