Pacific Jail Inmate Information

The LAPD officers of the Pacific Community Police Station enforce the law for all residents in Del Rey, Manchester Square, Mar Vista, Oakwood, Palms, Playa Del Rey, Playa Vista, Venice and Westchester. Anyone who has been arrested in these areas will most likely be taken to the Pacific station’s on-site jail, which is located on Culver Boulevard.

However, this jail is a very small, temporary holding facility. Once a defendant is booked and processed into the system, they will likely be transported to one of the larger LA County jails. For men, this means an unpleasant incarceration in one of L.A.’s overcrowded downtown jails — such as the Twin Towers or Men’s Central Jail.

Women are taken to the female-only Lynwood jail. As you’ve probably guessed, it is much better for the arrestee if bail can be posted while they are still being still held at the Pacific Division Station Jail, where the wait time for release is shorter. Once they are transferred to a larger LA County jail, it can take as long as 24 hours to bail them out!
