Inmate Locator
The Manhattan Beach Jail is a small facility that primarily houses inmates who are awaiting their arraignment in court. It consists of 8 main cells and can house a total of 14 inmates, as well as 2 short-term sobering cells capable of holding an additional 10 inmates.
There is a separate booking and processing and holding area for juvenile offenders. When inmates are not bailed out, released on citation, or have attended their arraignment in court, they are then transferred to a county jail such as Twin Towers Correctional Facility for men, or Lynwood Jail, for women. When transferred, inmates must go through the booking and processing procedure one more time and will likely end up spending an additional 24 hours in police custody.
Booking and Processing
Booking and processing is the procedure that happens shortly after arrest where photographs and fingerprints are taken. A background check is also conducted, and bail is set once the procedure is complete (provided an individual is eligible).
This procedure can take anywhere from 2-4 hours at local police stations, and sometimes can be much longer if the jail is very busy or it is one of the larger jails. However, when inmates are transferred to larger jail facilities, the process usually takes 12-24 hours due to the high volume of inmates. As such, it is typically best to get the bail bond application process started as quickly as possible to avoid having the transfer take place.
The Cost of a Bail Bond
Depending on the nature and number of the crime(s) an individual is charged with, the amount of bail will vary. In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500.
We provide a variety of payment options designed to fit almost any budget, and accept payment via major credit/debit cards: American Express, Visa, Discover and Master Card, cash, check (business or personal), money order, bank account transfer and money wire.
