LASD Inmate Locator
The City of South Gate is patrolled by the South Gate Police Department. The first thing that happens when an inmate is arrested and taken to the South Gate Police Station is the procedure known as booking and processing.
Officers will take photographs of the defendant, record their fingerprints and perform a background check. Once all of this is complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible as per the Los Angeles County Bail Schedule.
Once bail is set, an inmate can be released from custody if the bail bond application process is complete. If the bail bond process has not yet begun, then the defendant risks being transported to a larger holding facility such as Men’s Central Jail or the Lynwood Jail (in the case of women) and their time in custody will be increased significantly due to having to go through booking and processing once again at their new location.
Visiting Hours
Men’s Central Jail visiting hours: Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday – Sunday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Most jails will require that you call at least an hour before you plan to visit in order to make an appointment.
The Bail Bond Process
When you call and speak live with a licensed, professional bail bondsman, you will need to provide the name, birth date and date and time of arrest of the defendant. Once we have located him or her in the system and verified their eligibility for bail, we will have you fill out a few short application forms and the indemnitor agreement.
If you’re out of the area or can’t meet with us in person – that’s fine! The entire process can be completed from start to finish via fax or email.
The Cost of a Bail Bond
In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500. We accept several payment options, such as, cash, check, money order, bank account transfer, money wire and major credit/debit cards including: American Express, Visa, Discover and Master Card.
We strive to make bail bonds available no matter what kind of budget you’re working with and, we offer a wide variety of flexible financing options as well.
