LASD Inmate Locator
The Whittier Police Department provides the law enforcement needs of the people of Whittier and Santa Fe Springs. The Whittier Jail is a small facility designed to hold inmates temporarily; typically no more than 72 hours. When a bail bond is not available for inmates within that time frame, they are often transferred to larger facilities like Twin Towers Correctional Facility, Men’s Central Jail or the Lynwood Jail (for women).
When an inmate arrives at the Whittier Jail, he or she will go through booking and processing. This is when fingerprints are recorded, photographs are taken and a background check is conducted.
Once complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible and it will be possible to procure their release via a bail bond. However, if a bail bond is not obtained quickly enough, or if the jail is full, an inmate can be transferred to one of the larger facilities and will likely be in custody for an additional 24 hours.
Visiting Hours
Visiting Hours at the Whittier Jail are: Tuesday – Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm and Mondays from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The Bail Bond Process
Obtaining a bail bond is probably a lot easier than you think. It begins with giving us a call and providing the name, birth date and date and time of arrest of the inmate. If not all of this information is available, we can still help you out. Once we have located the inmate and verified their eligibility for bail, it is simply a matter of filling out the bail bond application forms and indemnitor agreement. This can be done in person at our office, your home, the jail or via fax or email – whatever works best for you works best for us!
Once the application forms have been filled out and the indemnitor agreement signed, one of our agents will be dispatched to the jail and your friend or loved one will be released in a few short hours.
The Cost of a Bail Bond
In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500.
