Santa Clarita Fourth of July 2015 Celebration

Santa Clarita Fourth of July 2015 Celebration

The Fourth of July is this Saturday, and the City of Santa Clarita has a lot of activities planned. Beginning at 7:00 in the morning, the Santa Clarita Runner’s Club will be hosting the Independence Day 5k and 10k runs along the parade route. Whether you’re a seasoned runner with countless miles under your belt or not, everyone is invited to participate.

At 9:00, after the run, the Santa Clarita 4th of July Parade will take place on Main Street in Old Town Newhall. The parade’s theme this year is “Santa Clarita: Living the American Dream,” and will include animals, military, floats, music and a whole lot more. Since you’ll already be in the area, why not check out one of the many restaurants in Old Town Newhall after the parade? There’s likely to be food and drink specials all over the area.

The final event of the day will, of course, be the fireworks presentation at Valencia Town Center, beginning at 9:15 pm. If you want good seats, you’ll have to get there pretty early, so make sure you bring a lot of cold drinks and some shade (if possible) as the temperature is going to be very hot.

Last but not least, if you plan to consume alcohol this 4th of July weekend, don’t drink and drive. The beauty of staying local to celebrate in the SCV is that you’re seldom more than a $20 taxi ride from wherever it is you want to go. Even if your fare happens to be higher, the price you pay for a ride home pales in comparison to the price you’ll pay if you end up with a DUI, or in an alcohol-related collision. Deputies from the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station are going to be out in force all weekend, and they’re going to be keeping an extra sharp eye out for anyone who exhibits signs of impaired driving.

Whatever you choose to do, remember to be safe and have a happy 4th of July from all of us at SCV Bail Bonds!
