So, what’s your plan this holiday season? Will you be meeting up with family and friends to celebrate? Christmas falls on a Thursday this year, which means there’s going to be plenty of time over the weekend to take in some of the fantastic events being held all over Los Angeles. Like every holiday, the city of Los Angeles is going to pay host to all sorts of Christmas and holiday-themed events that should be fun for folks of all ages.
- On Wednesday, December 24th, the LA County Holiday Celebration will begin at 2:30 pm at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles. It’s the biggest holiday event in Los Angeles County, and boasts over 20 performances including choirs, dance troupes and others from all over Los Angeles. The event is 3-hours long, and totally free (including parking), and guests are encouraged to come and go as they please throughout the show.
- The Nutcracker Ballet will be traveling all over LA County throughout the 2014 holiday season. If you’ve never seen it, or would like to see it again, there’s no time like the present. They’ll be at the Redondo Beach performing arts center from December 27-28th, but will be performing in additional places as well.
- Despite the fact that it’s going to be a blistering 55 degrees this Christmas, there will still be ice to skate. ICE at Santa Monica is an 8,000 square foot outdoor ice skating rink in true Los Angeles style. If you’d like, you can rent a pair of skates for $15 and enjoy the ice with a friend. However, for those who like to do things a little different, it will be possible to host a party with your own private cabana. The ice rink opened in November and will be available through Martin Luther King day.
- In Santa Clarita the light displays are even more spectacular than ever! There are light tours all over the city. Santa Claus will visit kids and there are many Christmas performances all over town, including the Nutcracker and a Jazz concert at COC. There’s even an ice skating rink at the Westfield Valencia Mall! Too many events to mention but you can find more here.
Most of the holiday events in Los Angeles will be continuing after Christmas, so if you plan to spend your holiday with family and friends, you can still take part in a number of festivities being put on all over Los Angeles County. No matter what, remember to be safe and have a happy holidays from all of us at SCV Bail Bonds!
